IRF strengthens public affairs expertise – Benjamin Mühlemann becomes Senior Advisor

Zürich, 14 January 2025 – IRF is expanding its expertise and resources in the area of public affairs and political communications consulting. Councillor of States Benjamin Mühlemann (45) joined the team as Senior Advisor at the beginning of the year. With his many years of experience in the fields of corporate communications, journalism and politics, Benjamin Mühlemann will advise companies, organisations, authorities and personalities on complex issues of political and strategic communication.

Benjamin Mühlemann has many years of experience in corporate communications, journalism and politics. Since December 2023, he has represented his home canton of Glarus as a member of the Council of States and member of the FDP parliamentary group in the Federal Parliament. From 2014 to May 2024, he was a member of the cantonal government (temporarily Landammann or President of the Government) and headed the Department of Education and Culture and then the Department of Finance and Health within the cantonal executive.

Benjamin Mühlemann studied journalism and organisational communication at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) in Winterthur. Parallel to this and following this, he worked as an editor for the daily newspaper "Südostschweiz". He later held positions as Project Manager Corporate Communications at Axpo Holding AG and as Head of Communications and Member of the Executive Board of the Swiss-Liechtenstein Building Technology Association suissetec.

Benjamin Mühlemann is also a member of the Board of Directors of Glarner Kantonalbank and the University Council of the University of Applied Sciences of Eastern Switzerland.
