IRF was founded in 2002 as an investor relations boutique. Over the years, IRF expanded its range to include positioning topics, public relations and public affairs. Mandates in corporate crises, major IPOs and international M&A projects were formative. Another important milestone was the early connection to the global consulting network of FTI Consulting. Today, IRF is one of the leading consulting firms for strategic communication in Switzerland. The key milestones:
Foundation
Anja Stubenrauch and Martin Meier-Pfister found IRF through a management buy-out from the Wirz Group. This lays the foundation for IRF’s independent positioning in the market for corporate and financial market communication.
IRF goes international
IRF becomes the official Swiss partner of FTI Consulting. The benefit of linking IRF to a strong international network was recognised early on. IRF becomes one of FTI’s first affiliate partners. More than 30 joint projects testify to a fruitful cooperation. In addition to joint client mandates, senior IRF consultants gain experience at FTI locations, notably in Brussels.

Best communications consultancy in Switzerland
In the ranking of Swiss PR agencies by the magazine “Schweizer Journalist”, IRF is named the best communications consultancy in Switzerland. The ranking is based on a survey of journalists from the leading Swiss media outlets. However, the annually recurring ranking sometimes produces curious results. Over time, IRF’s position has jumped through almost every possible rank between 1 and 20. The logic and reliability of the underlying methodology remain beyond our understanding.

With the rebranding to “IRF Reputation AG”, we gave the term reputation the significance it deserves. The new claim “we build reputations” underlines the focus of our services on developing, steering and maintaining the reputation of companies, organisations and individuals.
New office in Geneva
IRF opens an office on Rue du Commerce in Geneva. For many years, IRF has served a range of clients in all parts of Switzerland. Multinational companies and organisations in particular are increasingly seeking support in the Geneva region.
